So I have made coffee filter paper flowers before and loved them. Time consuming because you have to make them then paint them. So I stumbled upon this castle in the air crape paper flower. Loved them. The paper is quite expensive. With s&h it was 36 for 9 pieces. Yikes. So when you pay that much for paper. You save every scrap. Ok well maybe not you, but I do...

Patio garden.
It's been a busy day. And it's a week late but for Earth Day Eman and I decided to plant a patio garden. Except for his seasonal allergies we managed to do pretty well. :)
Fixing a bad join.
Sometimes bad things happen to good knitting. And it wasn't noticeable until I finished. So I twisted the yarn and used my felting tool to fix it. About 15 pushes and the twist was permanent. Ta da!

Art in the Classroom my BIG project.
So I was my art in the classroom project this past April 5th and I got overly ambitious and decided I would teach 24 2nd graders to sew. My continent was Australia so I decided to focus on Koalas. I pre-threaded all the needles 26, and gave them a tutorial on the basic running stitch. And away we went... Lol it was just a tad stressful, a lot of re-threading. But TOTALLY rewarding. The mother who signed up for April's door had not decorated it so I did ;)
Turned out excellent!!! I also received a touching Thank You from a girl who's mother informed me her daughter sewed all weekend!! Words can not explain how wonderful that is to hear.

Valentine Candy Alternative
Went to my local Lego store to the Pick-a-Brick wall and purchased enough pieces to make 30 hearts. That fit nicely into a $8 container :) I made up the pattern based off what was available at the time. Assembled with my sweetie.
Printed out the faux Instagram at CVS with coupon $6.00 Used Fed-Ex Kinkos paper cutter to trim them down. Purchased lil envelopes and craft tape at Michael's $6.00. Result super cute Valentine's Day cards :) about $22 great deal if I do say so myself :)

So I haven't had much time to sew, I altered a few shirts but other then that I really need to get on it. I read the WHOLE instruction manual though and feel pretty confident in what I am able to accomplish on my high tech gadget. My ADD is running full force though and I am wondering if I can hack it. lol. I started to finish a baby blanket I started before my last machine kicked the bucket. It's the first official day of those pesky resolutions. Guess I should make some efforts on mine. I did make it to the gym last night for a great 3 mile run in 28mins which is pretty good. :) I did design my dream stove :) now I just need a kitchen.

Sew.....
I was a very lucky girl and received a new sewing machine. It's so fancy and there will be a learning curve so thats a tad but exciting and nerve recking. I kinda need a lil project to hit the strait stitch open road with. :) Maybe I will troll my favorite blogs and see whats popping in the sewing sites.
